NAMI Mendocino County is a grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization consisting of families and friends of people living with mental health challenges, clients, professionals and members of the community.
We support people in our community who:
- Are living with mental health challenges
- Have a friend or family member living with mental health issues
- Feel alone and isolated
- Need information about mental illness, local services and support
Your local NAMI membership will support community resources in Mendocino County.
NAMI's support and public education efforts are focused on offering individuals and the community resources and information about mental illness through a variety of activities, including the following:
Family Support Groups provide emotional support to family and friends of people living with mental health issues. Check under Community Resourses link for times and locations.
Free Family-to-Family (F2F) and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) programs focusing on education and information on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, panic and obsessive disorders, biology of the brain, research, medications, treatment, communication & problem solving skills.
A Library of books, pamphlets, audiotapes and videos for loan are available upon request.
